A stop motion is a sequence of photos played back fast for our brain to merge them into motion, persistence of vision is what creates the illusion of motion.
A flip book is a series of photos flipped fast enough for our brain to merge them into motion.

As a maker of short, but deep films, I require them to be seen on repeat, there is too much information in each image to be able to grasp at that speed. As a maker of analog material animations I long for a way to bring my films back into materiality for their audience.This flipbook, small enough to hold in your hand, contains the film, but also the process, by giving you the experience of individual image as well the delight of bringing it into motion.
